Principal's Message

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of Madam Lau Kam Lung Secondary School of Miu Fat Buddhist Monastery. 

As an aided Girls’ School in the western New Territories, our school has been nurturing women of excellence for generations after generations regardless of their backgrounds and origins by minimizing gender-weighted expectations and providing inspirational environment for academic excellence. This is achieved by upholding Buddha’s teaching of relief through mercy and compassion as well as guiding our girls to put the following ‘Eight Qualities of LKL Girls’ into practice.

Perseverance is the core attribute our girls hold on to when laying their foundation for success. Perseverance allows one to stay focused and persist through hardship. With this, our girls grow into young ladies radiant with confidence and the other qualities in our LKL education which offers holistic personal development that emphasizes ethical, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and social development with multiple forms of intelligence cultivated through both formal curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

Our educational vision is realized with the following elements summarized in the acronym, ‘ACHIEVE’

To provide quality education, we make use of our expertise in analyzing the girls’ needs, based on which tactics are strategically employed to foster our girls’ confidence and nurture their learning habits. This is not just for preparing for their academic advancement, but also for their lifelong growth. With high expectations on themselves and immense support given by the school, we are proud to see that our girls are engaged in life-wide learning and vibrant school life. They are also empowered to grow up as contributing members of society with the eight aforementioned qualities who excel in various areas. These seven elements connected together will continue to nourish our girls from one level to another and from one generation to the next.
